This practice creates a controlled corrosive environment (95° F [35 °C] with atomized salt water) and generates data on the corrosion resistance of various metal and coated metal specimens within a test chamber. Coated panels can be evaluated for creepage (ASTM D1654), blistering (ASTM D714), and surface rust (ASTM D610) upon request.
