This practice creates a controlled corrosive environment (100 °F [35 °C] with free settling of water fog on test specimen) to test the corrosion resistance of metallic substrates with or without coatings or rust preventatives applied. Coated panels can be evaluated for creepage (ASTM D1654), blistering (ASTM D714), and surface rust (ASTM D610) upon request.
